Former finance minister Shaukat Tarin has urged the government to announce election and bring a strong caretaker setup in the country.<\/p>\n

Commenting over the situation after yesterday\u2019s by-election result, he said it has increased political instability in the country. Tarin urged for a strong caretaker government having understanding of the market, \u201cWe have to move forward to end the political instability for economic betterment of the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

A situation of uncertainty will prevail till the new elections are announced, he said. \u201cThey are aware that they will not remain in power till August 2023,\u201d he said. \u201cThe government has already reached to the technical agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).<\/p>\n

The agreement will not be affected if a caretaker government comes into power,\u201d Tarin further said. \u201cA caretaker setup comes with the consensus of all stakeholders, we as well as the PDM will cooperate with the finance minister of the interim government,\u201d he further said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have already taken very harsh decisions, still the rupee is falling down,\u201d he said. \u201cI was expecting that the rupee will come down below 200 but the matter has worsened,\u201d former finance minister said. \u201cThe dollar is gaining strength owing to the political instability,\u201d the former minister added<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
