Government has filed petition in the NEPRA for uniform power tariff. NEPRA will hear the application today (Wednesday) and send its decision to federal government for notification. The federal government has proposed to NEPRA to increase the power tariff in respect of all DISCOs including K-Electric. Government plans to spike the basic power tariff in phases. There is proposal before the government to enhance power tariff by Rs 3.50 per unit in the month of July. It has been further proposed to scale up power tariff by Rs 3.50 per unit from August and paisas 91 per unit from October. Earlier the NEPRA had sent the decision for scaling up power tariff to federal government. Now the government has filed petition in NEPRA in connection with uniform power tariff.
