\nPakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was trying to blackmail institutions. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in a media statement that Imran Khan was the biggest evil of the country which should be rooted out. He alleged that Imran Khan had passed resolutions against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to influence the verdict in PTI foreign funding case.
\nThe PDM head said that general elections will be held after the incumbent government completes its tenure. Fazlur Rehman once again criticised the Supreme Court (SC), saying that he had only objected the verdicts but not the top court. He said that the heads of the institutions were also human beings who made mistakes. The PDM head added that the apex court had also made mistakes in some verdicts. He said that the chief justice rejected to form a full bench due to unavailability of judges. The PDM head said that the chief justice had summoned the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) session just two days after the verdict in the deputy speaker ruling case. He took aim at former prime minister Imran Khan and said that the PTI government destroyed the national economy during its four-year rule. He said that the economic stability will take some time.
\nThe meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) heads was postponed which was previously scheduled to be held on today (Tuesday), The PDM heads\u2019 meeting will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. The PDM heads\u2019 meeting was postponed due to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif\u2019s visit to Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tomorrow. The PDM head and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman will also accompany PM Shehbz Sharif during DI Khan and Tank visits. The premier and Fazlur Rehman will visit flood-hit areas of both districts.
\nOn July 31, it was learnt that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) decided to summon federal ministers to brief them on the power and financial crunch in the country. The federal ministers will attend the two-day meeting of the PDM where they will brief the participants regarding the hike in prices of the US dollar against the rupee and fuel. The PDM leadership will devise a narrative for the next general elections after the briefing which will include that Imran Khan is behind the inflation in the country.
\nThe PDM has also invited other parties who are part of the coalition government to the meeting scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. During the last PDM meeting, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif lambasted Finance Minister Miftah Ismail in the PDM meeting due to the ongoing economic turmoil in the country.
