He was actually the pioneer of Hand Knotted Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters in 1970s and the industry grew leaps and bounds under his leadership.<br \/>\nHighlighting his further services in carpet industry, PCMAEA Chairman said there was a time in 70s and 80s when there were around 1.5 million people directly or indirectly dependent on this industry for their livelihood and this industry was 3rd biggest in Pakistan after Textile and Leather.<br \/>\nThe man behind this success was Khawaja Zubair Ahmad, \u201cWithout any doubt he deserved recognition from State of Pakistan for his services to the industry and the nation, demanding he further said that it was the credit of Khawaja Zubair to hold Pakistan\u2019s first International Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Exhibition in 1976. \u201cHe always worked and planned for welfare of common people and this was the basic reason for him working hard to bring as much export business to Pakistan as possible,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMAEA) paid rich tribute to the services of Khawaja Zubair Ahmed, a founder of hand knotted carpet industry in Pakistan, who was passed away two days ago.
