\nThe Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahram Khan Tarakai on Wednesday made it clear to the quarter concerned that no delay would be acceptable in out of school children campaign in the merged districts and directed them to engage all relevant staff for the admission campaign in each districts of the erstwhile Fata.
\nHe issued these directions while chairing the education department month-long out of schools enrolment campaign review meeting.
\nThe meeting also decided that clerical staff of the education department including district education offices, Directorate of Education and DPD to be tasked with special duties to reach out to every out of school child in the province.
\nSecretary Education Mutasim Billah Shah, Special Secretaries Khalid Khan, Barkatullah Khan, Director IT Muhammad Sardar Khan, Additional Director Dr Iqbal, officials of Private Schools Regulatory Authority and officials of Education Monitoring Authority attended the meeting.
\nShahram Khan Tarkai directed the Director IT to provide all data pertaining to admissions to Education Monitoring Authority authorities for verification of students.
\nEducation authorities should participate in the Deputy Commissioners meeting of the district and overall progress about enrolment in government schools should effectively communicate with concerned staff members for completing the campaign in KP, he added.
\n KP Education Minister said any official of the department failing to meet its responsibility would be taken to task, adding that the admission campaign in public sector schools was an important initiative of the provincial government and those who performed efficiently will also be rewarded.
\nMr Khan directed secretary education to invite the team of Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation and the team of Accelerated Learning Program in the next meeting so that they also give progress to the admission campaign.
\n\u201cDoor-to-door campaigns, announcements in mosques and senior students including print, electronic and social media awareness activities should be accelerated to achieve the objective of the education department enrolment campaign,\u201d he added.
\nThe meeting was informed that all arrangements have been completed for the provision of facilities in schools, the process of supplying books in 32 districts has been completed and every student will have books available for school from the very first day.
