As the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ruled that former ruling party PTI received prohibited funds, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday summoned four senior party leaders, including former National Assembly\u2019s Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that FIA had formed a five member team to keep an eye on its investigating teams in the prohibited funding scam.
\nOn Thursday, FIA Quetta summoned Qasim Khan Suri and four other senior party leaders in line with the prohibited funding scam.
\nAccording to a notification issued by FIA Quetta, 5.3 million rupees were withdrawn from party\u2019s account during a time span of 2011-13, while 5.5 million rupees were added to the account. These accounts were run against Suri and other party leaders\u2019 names, the statement said.
\nFormer NA deputy speaker, while confirming FIA\u2019s notice said that the amount was withdrawn through party\u2019s official account and it was spent on PTI\u2019s political and official activities. \u201cThis amount was not transferred through my personal account,\u201d Suri denied allegations.
\nQasim Suri said that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had ruled these notices to be \u2018illegal\u2019, adding that no PTI leader will appear before FIA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
