Ex-PM directs home secretary, jail IG to shift Gill to a hospital
\n LAHORE
\nFormer prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed concern about party leader and former SAPM Shahbaz Gill being sent into police remand again.
\nIn his latest tweets, the former PM wrote, \u201cVery concerned about Shahbaz Gill being sent into police remand again. He is in a fragile state of mental and physical health because of the torture inflicted on him when he was abducted & taken to undisclosed location & then again at the police station.\u201d
\nHe also said, \u201cThis is part of conspiracy to target me and PTI by forcibly getting false statements against us similar to what they have been doing against social media activists.\u201d
\n\u201cThis is absolutely unacceptable. We will take all legal & pol actions to counter not only this torture being inflicted upon Shahbaz Gill but also any such extra-Constitutional & extra-legal actions being devised against us,\u201d the PTI chairman added.
\nMeanwhile, soon after PTI leader Shahbaz Gill was remanded to Islamabad Police custody for another two days, Imran Khan ordered the Punjab administration to move him to a hospital.
\nImran Khan gave this order to Punjab home secretary and Punjab jails Inspector General (IG). He ordered both government officials to immediately shift Gill to a hospital in Rawalpindi.
\nPTI had alleged that Gill was stripped naked and tortured when he was in custody of Islamabad Police \u2013 which was under the federal government led by PML-N \u2013 after getting arrested on sedition charges.
\nThe government officials told ex-PM that it would be illegal to do so. But, Imran Khan pushed them to follow his orders no matter what the consequences of it are going to be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
