\nPESHAWAR
\nThe Provincial Development Authority (PDA) on Friday distributed intimation letters among the land owners of \u201cNew Peshawar Valley\u201d, a mega residential project of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
\nThe ceremony was held at PDA Hayatabad office which was attended by minister for health and finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra, minister for local government Faisal Amin Gandapur and secretary local government Zaheerul Islam.
\nOn this occasion, Director General PDA Syed Zafar Ali Shah briefed the ministers about the overall progress in the development of the New Peshawar Valley project.
\nHe said that intimation letters were issued to land owners under the land sharing formula, adding that the provincial government would give away developed plot to land owners instead of compensations.
\n\u201cLetters are being given after formal approval of the applications of the property owners,\u201d he added.
\nAccording to the master plan, the New Peshawar Valley housing project will be established on 106,000 kanal of land out of which 41 per cent area has been allocated for residential plots and apartments while 28 per cent area has been allocated for the construction of roads.
\nSimilarly, 16 percent of area for parks and open spaces, seven per cent for public buildings and five per cent would be utilized for commercial activities and parking. Besides, two per cent area has been proposed for graveyards.
\nAddressing the ceremony, DG-PDA informed that the buildings of provincial assembly and high court to the valley.
\n\u201cSpecial measures have been taken in the master plan to make the project environment friendly\u201d, he added installation of solid waste management and water treatment plants will be made part of the residential project.
\nThe residential project also included Parks, universities, IT Park, 200-bed hospital, media city and medical college.
\nSyed Zafar Ali Shah further informed that the provincial government has also planned to establish world\u2019s largest Khyber Park in the valley, adding that the park would cover around 8,000 kanal of land.
