\nHealth department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has set up 37 medical camps to help the people affected by the devastating floods in different areas of Chitral.
\nAccording to a press release issued here on Monday, the provincial health department so far treated more than 5,000 people infected with different diseases after the flood in the area.
\n\u201cMedical teams and medicines have been dispatched in the affected areas of Chitral, emergency medical aid teams are on the spot, supply of necessary medicines to the victims continues,\u201d it stated.
\nThe provincial health department added that medical camps have been established in the flood-affected areas of the province to treat diseases caused by contaminated water and provide immediate medical assistance to the affected people, the statement added.
\nMedical teams and medicines have already reached the affected areas of Chitral, teams are on the spot to ensure immediate medical assistance.
\n KP health department further said that necessary medicines are being supplied to the victims while a special camp was being organized for the treatment of flood-related diseases. According to the report issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response Unit of the Health Department, 37 medical camps have been set up in Chitral wherein thousands of victims have been treated.
\nDuring these medical camps, more than 4000 diarrhea patients were given medicines and more than 1500 skin patients were examined and treated while various vaccines were also administered, including treatment for diseases born from contaminated water.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that at least five people were dead and two others were still missing after flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains wreaked havoc in Chitral.
