\nIn the view of heavy rains and flash floods, Awami National Party (ANP) on Friday asked the provincial government to impose a state of emergency across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nThe provincial president of ANP Aimal Wali khan visited flood affected areas in district Charsadda and urged the KP government to declare the whole province as calamity-hit and compensate the flood hit areas people for loss of their families, orchards and settlements.
\nAimal Wali Khan monsoon rains have caused human and material losses in most districts of the province,adding that floods have also damaged standing crops in Mardan,Swabi, Charsadda, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Chitral and other parts of the province.
\nKP government without any further delay should declare a state of emergency in the province and initiate a comprehensive compensation program for rain hit people, he demanded.
\nANP provincial president termed the provincial government rehabilitation operations unsatisfactory and alleged the government of turning deaf ears towards those people who were trapped by floods and rains.
\nAimal Wali expressed grief over the losses of precious lives during the rain related incidents across the province. The provincial government and its cabinet members were busy in arrangements for Imran Khan public meeting in Peshawar and did not bother to reach out flooded areas and ensure relief to victims. He said that fiver brothers in Kohistan district were trapped in flood for hours but the provincial government did not rescue them, adding that district administrations have alerted the provincial government of imminent threat of flash flooding in several areas but it did not take precautionary measures and as result thousands people suffered and lost their houses and other precious belonging including cattles and grain.
