Govt stands firm by the people affected by devastated flood: Mahmood Khan
\nPESHAWAR
\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday approved additional funds worth Rs100 million for the four worst flood-affected districts of the province as relief and rehabilitation operations continue across the province.
\nIn a statement issued by the Chief Minister House, CM Mahmood Khan has approved additional funds to speed up the ongoing relief operations in the four districts.
\n According to details, the provincial government released Rs30 million each for Kohistan Lower and Tank districts, Rs20 million each for Nowsehra and Chitral Upper districts.
\nThe Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has been directed by CM KP to ensure implementation of the decision and furnish a report to this end.
\nMahmood Khan has said that the provincial government was taking all possible steps to provide relief on war footing in the areas where flood and rains have spread their devastation.
\nThe provincial government and its departments would leave no stone unturned to provide instant relief to the flood victims in the province, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stands firm with people affected by natural calamities.
\n\u201cAll available resources would be utilized for the rehabilitation operations and all people rooted out by the floods would be readjusted. With help of ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations across the province, the situation has seen improvement and in the coming days normalcy would be restored,\u201d he added.
\n In a statement issued by the PDMA, the KP government has released Rs730 million since June this year to tackle emergency situations across the province.
\nIt is worth mentioning here that the provincial cabinet earlier a day has approved Rs2.5 billion funds for relief and rehabilitation activities in the flood-hit areas of the province.
