\nSpecial Assistant to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking all possible measures to provide instant relief and rehabilitate population severely affected by devastated floods and heavy rains across the province.
\n\u201cAll available resources are being used to rehabilitate the victims,\u201d adding that Chief Minister Mehmood Khan was closely monitoring relief related activities and himself visiting affected to inspect relief and rehabilitation measures.
\nSince the flood and rains started in different districts, the provincial government devised an organized coordinated relief operation system and no stone would be left unturned to rehabilitate people affected by devastated floods, he claimed.
\nBarrister Muhammad Ali Saif in a statement from his office said that KP was facing worst flood in history, adding that flash floods have destroyed thousands settlements and orchards and many precious lives have been lost.
\nThe KP government precautionary measures taken in the prospects of heavy rains and flood reduced the losses to a great extent and as per the reports a large portion of population was protected from the ongoing floods in different districts, he added.
\nMr Saif said that Chief Minister Mehmood Khan was currently on a visit to the flood-affected areas of the province to supervise the ongoing relief operations in worst affected districts.
\n\u201c The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking rapid steps for the early rehabilitation of the flood victims and all available resources are being utilized for this purpose, Saif stated.
\nKP government spokesperson added that food items supply to remote areas of the province has been initiated and the process to rescue people from different area was be continued by helicopter, while tourists and citizens stranded at tourist spots have been evacuated and shifted to safer places.
\n Similarly, work is being started on the rehabilitation of the affected roads and bridges so that traffic can be restored along these areas.
