\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan on Monday paid a visit to district Charsadda to inspect Munda headworks and review flow of water at various places.
\nProvincial minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan directed the staff of the irrigation department to remain alert and said that the flood cell should keep the public informed about the flood situation and keep close contact with the district administration.
\nIn the district Charsadda, he examined the flood-affected Munda headworks and examined the flow of water at various places.
\nArshad Ayub also visited district Nowsehra and inspected the overall flow of water at the river and steps taken by the irrigation department.
\nThe Provincial Minister informed about the Munda Headworks that a part of the headworks was destroyed due to the overflow of the flood rail on the Munda Headworks, the capacity of Munda Headworks is 225000 cusecs. While a part of Munda Head works collapsed due to the passage of the flood line of more than 260000 cusecs.
\nIn order to evaluate the flood situation, the Provincial Minister for Irrigation examined water flow at different places including GT road bridge Nowshera and Khairabad.
\nThe officials concerned were also informed about the current and possible situation. While talking, he said that water is standing in many villages of Charsadda and Nowshera districts due to which people have been shifted to safer places.
\nChief Engineer South Nasir Ghafoor Khan, Chief Engineer North Ishaq Khan and other officials of the irrigation department were present.
\nArshad Ayub Khan talking to affected people of Nowshera said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was continuously monitoring the process of relief and resettlement.
\nAll government machinery was in operation to provide relief to the people and flood-Control rooms have been established in different areas of the province, he added.
\nHe said that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) was working tirelessly to make arrangements for relief and rehabilitation across the province.
\nAll provincial institutions were on high alert and ready to deal with any emergency, he said.
\nMr Arshad said that the Chief Minister has appointed focal persons in each district where they were monitoring the relief activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
