{"id":28118,"date":"2018-07-11T22:15:30","date_gmt":"2018-07-11T12:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=28118"},"modified":"2018-07-11T22:15:30","modified_gmt":"2018-07-11T12:15:30","slug":"sentence-of-sharif-family-challenged-in-lhc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/sentence-of-sharif-family-challenged-in-lhc\/","title":{"rendered":"Sentence of Sharif Family challenged in LHC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE : A petition against the sentence of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain Retried Safdar was submitted in Lahore High Court on Wednesday, seeking nullify the punishment of them.<\/p>\n<p>The plea has been lodged by Lawyers\u2019 Foundation for Justice through renowned advocate, AK Dogar.<\/p>\n<p>Three-time premier was sentenced according to such a law which become void after the 18th amendment.<\/p>\n<p>LHC has been requested to the declared punishment of Sharif Family Null and void.<\/p>\n<p>On July 06, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years in prison and slapped a \u00a38 million fine, while his daughter Maryam was sentenced to seven years with a \u00a32 million fine in the Avenfield properties reference.<\/p>\n<p>Nawaz\u2019s son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar was given a one year sentence.<\/p>\n<p>On July 09, Captain Retired Safdar, the son in law of former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif is shifted to Adiala Jail.<\/p>\n<p>Captain retired Safdar was presented in the court of Judge Muhammad Bashir.<\/p>\n<p>Strict security measures were in place outside the Federal Judicial Complex in G-11 sector of Islamabad, where the accountability court is situated.
