\nAman march (peace march) against deteriorating law and order situation prevailing in Bara and rest of Khyber was held here in subdivision Bara, district Khyber on Sunday.
\nUnder the auspices of Sayasi Ittehad(political alliance)Bara, hundreds of thousands people from different walks of life including political and social activists,youths and elders participated in the march.
\nThe participants carrying while flags started their march from Dogra and ended at Bara Bazaar where the rally turned into a public gathering.
\nAddressing on the occasion speakers including president of Sayasi Ittehad, Bara Shah Faisal Afridi, vice-president Shereen Afridi, ex-parliamentarians Haji Shahji Gul Afridi and Hamidullah Jan Afridi, Member Provincial Assembly Shafiq Sher,Walayat Khan,Attaullah Asghar Khan and others said that the mammoth participation of tribesmen in the march proved that they were peace loving people and hate terrorism therefore it was the duty of the State to establish peace.
\nThe speakers opined that the peace march was the first step of the Sayasi Ittehad towards peace and would leave no stone unturned to work for the durable peace in Bara.
\nThey said that peace had been restored in Bara in rest of areas of the Khyber by rendering matchless sacrifices of forces and civilians; however , some elements deliberately sabotaged the peaceful environment of the district that was injustice to the tribesmen.
\nThey maintained that for the last few months militants resumed their activities in Tirah Valley by initiating attacks at police check posts, threat calls received by residents for extortion and target killings proved that under a plan, the area is going to be handed over to militants as previously.
\nWe have suffered a lot in the last two decades due to militancy thus we conduct Aman march aims to convey message to the authorities concerned to restore peace in the Bara and initiated practical steps to halt activities of miscreants ,Shah Faisal Afridi added
\nThe marchers demanded forces to stop harassment in the pretext of search operations in the area and produce missing persons before Courts for fair trials.
\nThey assured that they would stand stern with the security agencies to reinstate the law and order situation in Khyber and urged the provincial and federal governments besides law enforcing agencies to have mercy on the tribesmen and avoid formulating anti-tribal interest policies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
