\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Women lawmakers, associated with different opposition political parties, demanded the government to increase allocations for the girl\u2019s education.
\nWomen lawmakers said that \u201cas per the statistics of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) over 4.7 million children are out of schools, of which 2.9 million are girls\u201d.
\nAt a press conference in Peshawar Press Club (PPP) Jamat-e-Ulema Islam Fazal (JUI-F) woman MPA Naeema Kishwar said that the provincial should focused on the girl\u2019s education and suggestion submitted by the opposition should be implemented as soon as possible.
\nWomen lawmakers claimed that \u201copposition parties have recently conducted a detailed review of education department schemes in the annual development budget. The provincial education department was given several suggestions for bringing betterment in girl\u2019s education. The department was urged to incorporate more schemes for girls in the ongoing ADP schemes\u201d.
\nThey also demanded the provincial government to allocate more resources for the health, hygiene and transport facilities for girls admitted in secondary schools of the province.
\nAwami National Party (ANP) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) urged the provincial government for taking pragmatic steps in promotion of girl\u2019s education, adding that a large number of girls in the province have no access to school and many of them suffering from the custom of early marriage, adding that KP government should take the issue seriously.
\nBalochistan Awami Party (BAP) woman lawmaker in KP Assembly Baseerat Bibi complained that the girls education system in the province was in a poor condition and a large number of girls were out of schools, adding the ratio was especially high in South Waziristan.
\nShahzia Orangzaib, an MPA of PML-N told media that steps to eradicate gender gap and discrimination in education allocation were primary factors need to be addressed.
\nThe lawmakers also presented documented proposals to the provincial education department for bringing reforms in the education sector to increase the ratio of girl\u2019s education in KP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
