\nHundreds of employees of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mardan (BISEM) staged a protest rally against the government decision of abolishing all the education boards and merging them in Peshawar board. The rally was started from BISEM and in front of the Mardan press the rally turned into a protest meeting.
\nAll Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) central general secretary Aurangzeb Kashmiri, board union president Iftikhar Ahmed and other office bearers led the rally.
\nMayor Mardan Himayatullah Mayar, All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation chairman Sharfatullah Yousafzai, Fazl-e-Qayum, Taj Mohammad and representatives of different government employees union and political parties participated in the rally. Large numbers of male and female employees of BISEM attended the rally.
\nThe protesters were holding banners inscribed with their demands and raising slogans against the provincial government. The protesters also raised slogans against the government decision of abolishing all the education boards and merging it in one board. The protesters said that they would never accept the government decision.
\nAddressing the protest rally the speakers strongly condemned the government decision of abolishing all the education boards of the province and merging it in one board. Speakers said that the establishment of one education board would create a lot of problems for the students and employees.
\nThey argued that if the government wanted to bring reforms in the education boards, it should take all stakeholders into confidence.
\nSpeakers said that until the council members and other stakeholders are not satisfied, the strike would continue in all the education boards.
\nThey added that the results of the intermediate exams would not be published till their demands weren\u2019t fulfilled.
\nSpeakers said the current government had destroyed the health sector of the province in the name of reforms as the hospitals were given to contractors on private partnership in the name of MTI.
\nThey said that now the government was abolishing all the boards of the province in the name of reforms and merging them in the Peshawar board. They added that this decision of the provincial government would create a lot of problems for the students, employees and especially for female students.
\nThey warned that if the provincial government did not withdraw the decision they would stage sit-in in front of the provincial assembly and PTI chief Imran Khan house at Bani Gala at Islamabad and the provincial government would be responsible for it.
