National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) under its drive \u201cPower with Safety\u201d held a webinar titled \u201cIsolation and Permit to Work\u201d in collaboration with K-Electric at NEPRA Headquarters, today. The main objective was to create awareness amongst the participants about correct application of \u201cIsolation and Permit to Work\u201d system to control hazards, maintenance of any electrical apparatuses where the unexpected energizing, start up or release of any type of energy can cause considerable damage not only to the equipment and tools but also precious human lives. The webinar was attended by hundreds of HSE Professionals and field staff from the power sector of Pakistan besides a number of NEPRA officials.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The webinar was chaired by Mr. Naweed Illahi Shaikh, Director General (Admin.\/HR\/CAD). Mr. Shaikh in his opening remarks highlighted the importance of the webinar in accordance with Chairman NEPRA, Mr. Tauseef H. Farooqi\u2019s vision of attaining zero-incidents in the power sector of Pakistan. He also stressed upon adopting International Safety Standards so that fatalities and injuries to those on duty and the public is mitigated.<\/p>\n

The webinar was also addressed by Chief Executive Officer K-Electric, Mr. Moonis Alvi who thanked and appreciated Chairman NEPRA\u2019s keen interest in advocating, shaping, implementing and monitoring best safety practices across the power sector. He ensured that KE will keep on implementing such best practices initiated under the NEPRA drive \u201cPower with Safety\u201d effectively.<\/p>\n
