Protestors who blocked Peshawar- Islamabad motorway for some time said that agriculture sector is facing a recession and hardships of farmers have increased due to imposition of Rs. 390\/ Kg additional tax on tobacco. They said that recent rain and floods has also negatively impacted tobacco crop and imposition of additional tax in existing scenario is unjust.  They also threatened to stage protest if their demands were not met.
