\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday held the center responsible for the financial woes in the province, accusing that the federal government has halted release of development funds for the Newly Merged Areas and also adopting delaying tactics to pay the province its net hydel profit arrears.
\n\u201cThe incumbent federal government neither convened the NFC award meeting to review distribution of resources nor honored its promises to release net hydel pending arrears to the province,\u201d he added.
\nHe said that as per the NFC award the center is required to pay around Rs275b to the province, adding that the prevalent financial crisis, if any, the responsibility lies on the central government as it is failing to meet its commitments made with KP govt.
\nMr Saif urged the federal government to immediately release net hydel profits and funds for tribal districts development to prevent the looming financial crisis over the province.
\nHe said that the PDM leadership in the government has observed pin drop silence over resources royalty amounting to billions of rupees, which could be used for initiation of development projects in the province.
\nKP government spokesperson maintained that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) led alliance PDM has been in power in centre for the past six months, but it had failed to address concerns of the province for its share in the national resources.
\n\u201cThe imported government is busy in corruption and squashing their cases pending at various courts,\u201d he added.
\nBarrister Mohammad Ali Saif added that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in a press conference hurled allegations on the KP government for failing to manage its economy, but did not say a single word about the resources distribution strategy under the NFC award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
