\nChief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said Pakistan wants peace and our desire for peace be not construed as our weakness.
\nHe said this while addressing the passing out parade at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul on Saturday,
\nHe held armed forces would not allow any country, group or force to destabilize the country. Don\u2019t pay attention to any fake news or propaganda. The security of Pakistan is in safe hands.
\nHe congratulated the cadets for successfully completing their training. He also congratulated the families of the successful cadets.
\n\u201cI would also like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the cadets of our brotherly countries on completion of their military training at the Pakistan Military Academy,\u201d he added.
\nThe chief of army staff highlighted the role of the military in successfully exterminating terrorism from the country in its two-decade-long struggle.
\n\u201cUnique accomplishment that not many countries or armies claim,\u201d the army chief pointed out.
\nArmy has rendered unprecedented sacrifices to rid Pakistan of terrorism. I had obtained training from this institution 42 years before. Then I had not thought that I would command this great army.
\nHe underlined \u201c you will have to take big and difficult decisions in future. You will have to work for the security, respect and betterment of the country.
\nHe said Pakistan in its quest for peace has extended sincere and all out efforts to evolve good neighbourly relations with all neighbours and regional countries.
\nHe said we are trying our best to break the political logjam which has denied the countries of South Asia to move forward and resolve all regional and bilateral issues in a peaceful and dignified manner.
\nThe Army Chief stressed that people of South Asia also deserve prosperity and better living conditions. This can only happen with sustained economic growth, development and above all lasting peace. Therefore we must try hard to keep flames of war away from the region.
\nHe underlined we must give peace a chance by developing a mechanism to resolve all bilateral issues peacefully. He said we should collectively fight hunger, poverty, illiteracy, population explosion, climate change and disease.
\nEarlier, at the beginning of the passing out parade, Parade Adjoint Major Saad Amjad Raha \u2013 riding on Burraq (White horse) \u2013 invited the army chief for the inspection of the parade.
\nThe chief of army staff was accompanied by Commandant of Kakul Major General Umar Ahmad Bukhari.
\nHigh-level civil and military leaders and ambassadors of friendly countries attended the event. Cadets of 24th Technical Graduate Course and 65th Integrated Course are also among those passing out today. Besides them, cadets of 20th Lady Course and 5th Basic Military Training Course were also part of the parade.
\nBest performing cadet was honoured with Sword of Honour, while gold medals was given to two cadets of 146 PMA Long Course. Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal was given to the best performing cadet of the friendly countries.
\n20 foreign cadets including four women were part of the passing out parade. These cadets are from Qatar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Iraq.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
