\nFormer Prime Minister and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Saturday paid a daylong visit to Dera Ismail Khan, the most affected district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the recent flash floods.
\nDuring his visit, Imran Khan distributed cheques among the families who lost thier houses in the floods.
\nImran Khan while addressing a function held in this connection at the Circuit House maintained that the provincial government was taking pragmatic steps to complete the process of rehabilitation in the flood hit areas.
\nHe said PTI has collected donations through telethons for the flood hit victims which would be spend on a very transparent way, adding money was collected through telethons would be used for housing finance for the flood victims and in this regard I pay tribute to the Chairperson Ehsaas Committee Dr Sania Nishtar.
\nOn this occasion, Senator Dr Sania Nishtar, former Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Provincial Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur, Member National Assembly Sheikh Yaqub, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Amir Afaq, Regional Police Officer Shaukat Abbas was also present.
\nDuring his address, Imran Khan further said that the modern system used and the integrated plan created to use the collected money in a fair and transparent manner and deliver their rights directly to the beneficiaries.
\n\u201cOur effort was to provide housing finance for the victims who have been displaced, because the restoration of the rest of the infrastructure is the responsibility of the government, \u201c he added.
\nTo ensure transparency and fair distribution, complete data has been provided from claim assessment survey to verification by the departments and then to the banks and the diligence shown by the management in connection with ground verification in this regard.
\n PTI Chairman added that distribution was being done through banks so that people\u2019s self-esteem was not hurt and they do not have to face any request, begging or need and also easily at the time of need.
\nMr Khan stated that Ehsaas program has received global recognition.
\nThe health card system issued by our government in the province was a unique step for the poor.
\nSenator Dr Sania while addressing the ceremony said that under the promise of Imran Khan to the flood victims, the relief phase is going to be completed today.
\nDuring the flood, our communication with other regions and provinces of the country was cut off for seven days.
