Says we do not need enemies when looters are in power
\nSARGODHA
\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday dubbed the long march as \u2018jihad\u2019 to get actual freedom, saying that he will announce the long march within a few days.
\nAddressing an event at the University of Sargodha, the former premier berated Punjab Governor Baligh ur Rehman and said, \u201cWho gave him the permission to stop the political leaders from addressing the students. I ask the Punjab governor to not follow the advice of the rulers as the students are the future of the country\u201d.
\nAt the outset of his speech, the former premier [Imran] said, \u201cOn three occasions, I had an opportunity to address the students of Oxford University. How could students become politically enlightened if leaders were not permitted to speak at the university? This is the place even for the PDM chief and JUI-F supremo, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman to come, but if the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make his way to the university, then he will ask for the money.\u201d
\nTaking a dig at Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PTI chairman said that he [Bilawal] gives contradictory statements. \u201cSome of the politicians come into power by first pretending that they think about the masses and after that, they plunder the nation\u2019s wealth\u201d, said the PTI chief.
\nRecalling his take on society\u2019s decline, the PTI chief said that when the principles of honesty and truth are ignored, then this leads to the collapse of society. Giving the example of Switzerland\u2019s key to success, Imran said that the secret behind the success and progress in the country [Switzerland] is the supremacy of law.
\nHitting out at PM Shehbaz, he said, \u201cOur prime minister, when asks for the money from abroad, so then the entire country has to suffer in terms of respect. Before coming into power, our premier was about to be convicted in the case of plundering Rs16 billion.\u201d
\nLambasting the finance czar, Ishaq Dar, Imran said, \u201cDar in his statement, back in 2000 admitted that he [Dar] used to do money laundering, but now he has been elected as the finance minister again\u201d.
\nWhile further talking about his movement against the incumbent government, the PTI chairman said, \u201cThrough the long march, the country\u2019s destiny is going to be decided.\u201d Urging his supporters to not give up, Imran said, \u201cWhen you gave up, then you get dragged into a quagmire\u201d.
\nBesides, taking a dig at PM Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Dar, Imran also lashed out at former president Asif Zardari and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
\nTalking about Zardari, he said that on Zardari\u2019s corruption, many books have been written, while taking a jibe at the interior minister, Imran cited the statement of the PML-N leader, Abid Sher Ali\u2019s father and said that Abid\u2019s father had said that Rana Sanaullah had killed 18 people.
\nImran Khan said that scholars like Raymond Baker have written books about Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif\u2019s corruption but NAB is closing cases against them. This is not just a political struggle but a \u2018jihad\u2019 against these corrupt people, he added.
\nHe added that it is better to die rather than live under these looters\u2019 government. The former premier also berated Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and went on to say, \u201cIt is difficult to draw a line of demarcation between Sindh Governor and the character of Maula Jutt\u201d.
\nThe PTI Chief added that our country does not need any other enemy if these looters are installed in power. He said that throughout his cricketing career he fought until the last ball.
