NAIROBI
\nSenior journalist and anchorperson Arshad Sharif has been shot dead in Nairobi capital of Kenya.
\nArshid Sharif is reported to have been killed by Kenyan Police along the Nairobi-Magadi highway on Sunday in \u201cmistaken identity case\u201d.
\nThe family sources and colleagues of deceased journalist have confirmed that Arshid Sharif has been shot to death in Nairobi.
\nHowever further details about the incident are awaited. The local police have started investigation into the incident.
\nJaveria Siddique, wife of Arshid Sharif tweeted \u201c I lost my friend, husband and favorite journalist. Police have told that Arshid Sharif was gunned down in Kenya.
\nShe appealed \u201c our privacy be respected and pictures of our family, personal details and last picture of Arshid Sharif which was taken in hospital be not published.
\nSenior journalist Arshid Sharif was associated with a TV channel in Karachi. He had gone to Dubai some time back after resigning from his job
\nAt the inception of this year several treason cases were registered against him in different cities.
\nPeople have expressed condolence on social media website over the death of Arshid Sharif.
\nPresident Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman) Imran Khan on Monday expressed profound shock and grief over the death of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.
\nThe president termed the death of Arshad Sharif a \u201cgreat loss to journalism and Pakistan\u201d.
\nHe prayed that may the soul of Arshad Sharif rest in peace and may his family, which includes his followers, have the strength to bear this loss.
\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief over the death of Arshad Sharif.
\n\u201cI am deeply saddened by the shocking news of journalist Arshad Sharif\u2019s tragic death,\u201d he said.
\nHe extended condolences to the bereaved family of Arshad Sharif.
