KARACHI
\nEmployers\u2019 Federation of Pakistan(EFP) conducted a Validation Workshop to share the research findings of its Women Empowerment Survey, in which 250 enterprises shared their gender-centric policies and initiatives for promoting employment and empowering females.
\nThe workshop was attended by the Human Resources heads of respondent companies, representatives from the relevant Government Department, and representatives from Academic Research institutions, whereas, representatives of the International Labor Organization participated via Zoom.
\nSyed Nazar Ali, Secretary General EFP, welcomed the participants and thanked them for their contribution to the survey. \u201cdevelopment and better utilization of human resources are crucial for economic development and participation of females who constitute 50 percent of the population is a prerequisite for sustainable development\u201d, he added.
\nMuhammad Akram, EFP\u2019s Consultant for the Research, shared the survey analysis findings with the participants. He also discussed various initiatives of the company for promoting and empowering the female workforce.
\nAya Matsuura, Gender Specialist ILO, gave a brief of the project, and said that they have partnered with EFP to launch the Women Empowerment Project to promote the inclusivity of more females in economic activities. She appreciated the efforts of EFP in conducting industry-wide research to identify the practices and policies for women\u2019s employment among enterprises.
\nThe Participants attending the Workshop expressed their appreciation to the EFP team for making the research a success. Additionally, they recommended a few suggestions like setting a criterion and collecting data from more women representatives in the future to enhance the research. The participants also suggested the implementation of women-related legislation and removing discrimination and harassment in the workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
