\nRahnuma Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP), with technical support from UNFPA, has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) and Android Application on Life Skills Based Education (LSBE) to reach out to young people through digitalization.
\nIn 2021, eight short videos were developed on LSBE and disseminated through Ilm Ki Dunya YouTube channel, a popular site for information about education system of Pakistan and through UNFPA.
\nThis year, the videos were translated into sign language, making the information easily accessible and legible for people with disabilities. These videos have also been made available on the learning management system and android app.
\nThe LSBE Online Program has been carefully designed for adolescents and young people to augment their ability to understand and learn about life skills for a better society. The program has been designed to be user friendly in its approach for the adolescents and young people.
\nEach of the LSBE courses come with a multiple choice questions pre-test that is taken before the start of any course. After the pretest, the user is provided with the course content both in Urdu and English that contains textual information as well as video content to take the final test.
\nThe launching ceremony of the Life Skills Based Education Learning Management System LMS and Android Application took place on 22nd November, 2022 in Lahore. Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari Spokesperson Punjab Government was the Chief Guest at the event and officially inaugurated the application. Mr. Syed Kamal Shah CEO Rahnuma FPAP delivered welcome remarks and gave brief introduction of the organization.
\nSpeaking at the occasion, UNFPA Provincial Technical Advisor Mr. Shoaib Ahmed said: \u201cUNFPA advocates for LSBE across the country, targeting youth both in and out of school environments. UNFPA works to standardize the programme nation-wide in different areas, from policy-level advocacy to community outreach.
\nTo build foundational evidence to help inform further programme implementation, UNFPA has come up with a digital solution of reaching out to maximum youth in Pakistan. Mr. Ahmed emphasized the importance of continuing with the initiative and its contribution to the future of the youth in Pakistan.
\nDr. Anjum Rizvi Director PMD Rahnuma FPAP, explained the joint efforts and role of UNFPA and Rahnuma FPAP in the initiative. Mr. Ghulam Ali, the Chief Executive Officer of ilm Ki Dunya Soft Solutions took the audience through a presentation of LSBE Learning Management System LMS and Android Application followed by a question answer session.
