\nAdvisor to Chief Minister on Home and Tribal Affairs Babir Saleem Swati in a comprehensive media briefing on the security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assured that the writ of the state is paramount and the law and order situation is completely under control.
\nKP`s government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Asif Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
\nBabir Saleem Swati said that geographical position of the province is different from other provinces of the country, adding KP shares border with Afghanistan and linked terrorism incidents in the province with it.
\nHe said that KP police force has rendered unprecedented sacrifices to establish peace in the province.
\nSpecial Assistant on Information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif and DIG Operations Asif Iqbal said that a large number of people who have made sacrifices for this country.
\nIn the press conference, journalists were given a detailed briefing on the situation of law and order in the province.
\nAddressing the press conference, Adviser Home Babar Saleem Swati said that the police have handled the situation very well with great courage, law and order in the province is under the complete control of the government.
\n\u201cThe changing situation in Afghanistan is having a significant impact on Pakistan,\u201d they added and said that incidents of terrorism have increased due to the situation in Afghanistan.
\nBarrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the law and order situation in KP is being monitored and police has an important role in this regard, they will not allow the law and order in the province to deteriorate at any cost.
\nOn this occasion, DIG Operations Asif Iqbal while addressing the press conference said that our force is fully alert and our men are always ready to deal with terrorism.
\n\u201cKhyber Pakhtunkhwa police are equipped with modern weapons to deal with terrorism,\u201d he said.
\nDIG Operations said that most of the calls for extortions come from Afghanistan.
\nHe said that 15, 20 cases have been identified so far in the province and action has been taken to bust the network operating in the province.
\nApart from this, he said that 607 terrorists have been arrested during the last 11 months while 155 terrorists and wanted suspects have been killed in police encounters, including 43 terrorists who had a bounty on their heads.
