{"id":299461,"date":"2022-12-06T08:42:29","date_gmt":"2022-12-06T03:42:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=299461"},"modified":"2022-12-06T08:42:29","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T03:42:29","slug":"pedo-hpp-france-uspcas-energy-uet-peshawar-sign-mou","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/pedo-hpp-france-uspcas-energy-uet-peshawar-sign-mou\/","title":{"rendered":"PEDO, HPP France, USPCAS Energy UET Peshawar sign MoU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> PESHAWAR<br \/>\nA Center of Excellence in Micro Small Hydro Technology will be set up at the U.S. Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies Energy (USPCAS-E) UET Peshawar to strengthen the local manufacturing and standards of quality testing of mini-micro hydro technology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<br \/>\nThe MoU, in this respect was signed by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), Hydro Power Plant (HPP) France and USPCAS-E Energy here today.<br \/>\nThe documents were duly endorsed by Prof Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, Dr. Kamil Tarar, Office Pakistan Representative HPP France and Mr. Qazi Muhammad Naeem, Chief Executive Officer PEDO at the commencement of the International Conference on \u201cSustainable Energy Technologies\u201d, organized by the USPCAS-E UET Peshawar, here today.<br \/>\nDespite enormous potential of hydropower in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the main barrier in developing the micro and small hydro projects is the lack of technical expertise of international standards to manufacture hydro turbines in Pakistan.<br \/>\nThe MoU is aimed to establish the Center of Excellence in Micro Small Hydro Technology through technical and financial assistance of PEDO and HPP France, respectively to resolve the pressing issue of energy crisis in Pakistan.<br \/>\nAs part of MoU, HPP France will also conduct trainings of professionals in micro and small hydro turbine manufacturing and provide European standard micro and small hydro technologies.<br \/>\nThrough this Center, it is expected that potential of hydro and small hydro power will enhance with time.
