\nPTI general secretary Asad Umar has tendered unconditional apology to Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi for making insulting and derogatory remarks against judiciary in his Nov 26 speech in PTI Rawalpindi power show.
\nThe court wrapped up contempt of court notice issued to Asad Umar.
\nThe court remarked \u201c the courts allowed you to hold long march and you leveled allegations against the courts. Here the issue is not of contempt of court but it is issue of leveling allegations against the institutions and their persons.
\nDuring the hearing of the case on Wednesday commissioner, deputy commissioner Rawalpindi and CPO Rawalpindi were present in the court.
\nFaisal Chaudhry counsel for Asad Umar appeared before the court.
\nThe court inquired from Faisal Chaudhry where is his client. He should be presented.
\nAsad Umar came on rostrum and tendered unconditional apology on his speech. He took the plea his aim was not to target any judge or judiciary. We respect the judiciary and will continue to respect. If any line has been crossed in my speech I tender apology to the court.
\nThe court remarked the court allowed you to conduct long march and you leveled allegations against the courts. Here the issue is not of contempt of court but it is issue of leveling allegations against the institutions and their persons.
\nAsad Umar said no name of any judge was mentioned in his speech.
\nThe court remarked your video statement is available in the court. You know what you said in the speech. The courts under article 50 and 60 of the constitution give permission for right to democracy and right to movement but not allows criticism against the institutions.
\nThe court wrapped up the contempt of court notice issued to Asad Umar.
