\nAs many as 10, 576 candidates in the entry test held for BS (morning shift) four-year degree programs in the departments of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Applied Physics, Biotechnology, Business Administration (BBA), BE Chemical Engineering, Commerce, Computer Science \u2014 (BSCS) and (BSSE) \u2014 Criminology, Split 2 +2 Chinese, Education, Environmental Studies, Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, International Relations, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Petroleum Technology, Special Education and B. Ed (H) Teacher Education, and School of Law B.A., LL.B. (H), Doctor of Physical Therapy (five-year) and Doctor of Pharmacy (five-year) for the academic year 2023 at the University of Karachi on Sunday.
\nThe KU has conducted the entry test in the 303 examination rooms established at 28 examination centres across the campus for the 1600 seats in 23 departments. The KU has received 11, 082 online admission forms, and 95.43 percent of candidates appeared in the entry test on Sunday. The 100 minutes long entry test started at 11:00 am.
\nThe KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, KU Registrar Professor Dr Abdul Waheed, KU Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Nusrat Idress, Professor Dr Anila Amber Malik, campus security advisor Dr Moiz Khan, students advisor Dr Syed Asim Ali, in-charge transport Dr Qadeer Muhammad Ali, senior medical officer Dr Syed Abid Hassan, Dr Wafa Altaf, Dr Akmal Waheed, and the Controller of Examinations Dr Syed Zafar Hussain, along with the in-charge Directorate of Admissions Dr Saima Akhtar, and others visited the examination rooms.
\nThe terminal buses were available to provide pick and drop service from all entrances of the campus. They were used for the transportation of candidates and their parents and guardians from the gates to their examination centers and then back to the gates.
\nSeparate waiting areas were established for the family members of the candidates, and the ambulance and the KU Clinic team were also present on this occasion.
\nMeanwhile, the KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi while replying to media representative\u2019s questions mentioned that the provision of grants should be ensured keeping in mind the needs of the universities to improve their infrastructure.
\nHe said that for timely maintenance of buildings and transport vehicles, all universities need on-time funding from the Higher Education Commission (Islamabad) and due to the country\u2019s economic situation, the grants have been reduced in recent years.
\nHe further said that all universities of Pakistan are working hard to promote teaching and research activities according to international standards but they faced serious hardships due to a lack of sufficient funding and grants.
\nHe replied that the federal and provincial HEC should increase the funds and grants considering the needs of the universities in all provinces of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
