SHC Justice Salahuddin Pinhor on Tuesday heard a petition filed by prisoners who were unable to make their Diyat and Qasas payments. The interior and law secretaries appeared before the court. While hearing the case, the court inquired why the welfare funds of the prisoners were not being released by the authorities. Justice Pinhor deplored that no one was looking into the affairs of the jail inmates. He said it was a common man\u2019s problem and ordered to solve it. He inquired of interior and law secretaries where the implementation report was. He asked them whether they had established the welfare funds for the prisoners. The interior secretary informed the court that a law was promulgated in 2011 regarding Diyat and Qasas payment to the jail inmates.
