{"id":303227,"date":"2022-12-24T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T07:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=303227"},"modified":"2022-12-24T14:16:00","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T09:16:00","slug":"parvez-elahi-insists-punjab-assembly-will-be-dissolved-despite-assurance-to-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/parvez-elahi-insists-punjab-assembly-will-be-dissolved-despite-assurance-to-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Parvez Elahi insists Punjab Assembly &#8216;will be dissolved&#8217; despite assurance to court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Minister Parvez Elahi said on Friday that the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved in line with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan&#8217;s directives, moments after he assured a high court that he would not disband the legislative.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, the Lahore High Court (LHC) restored Elahi as the chief minister following an undertaking submitted by him stating that he would not dissolve the provincial assembly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision to dissolve the assemblies is final; Imran Khan&#8217;s decision will be implemented,&#8221; the chief minister wrote on his official Twitter handle.<\/p>\n<p>CM Elahi said that the &#8220;imported government&#8221; is running from elections, but the Punjab government will ensure that it is &#8220;presented in the people&#8217;s court&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Before Elahi, PTI Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry insisted that provincial assemblies will be dissolved &#8220;in any case&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The undertaking that Parvez Elahi has given is technical. However, the PTI does not agree with the undertaking that was given to the court.
