\nThe country\u2019s top military leadership on Wednesday expressed resolve to fight against terrorists without any distinction and eliminate the menace as per the aspirations of people of the Pakistan, the military\u2019s media wing said in a statement.
\nAccording to ISPR, the military\u2019s top brass expressed this resolve during the 254th Corps Commanders\u2019 Conference held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi held between December 27 to 28 presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.
\nA comprehensive review of professional and organisational matters of the army was undertaken, ISPR added.
\n\u201cIt was resolved to fight against terrorists without any distinction and eliminate this menace as per the aspirations of people of Pakistan,\u201d the statement further said. The statement comes as Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terrorist activities following the calling off of the ceasefire by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in late November.
\nSince then, K-P has seen a surge in terrorist attacks, while incidents of \u201cunprovoked cross-border shelling\u201d by the Afghan Taliban forces in the Chaman-Spin Boldak area and the Afghan forces firing rockets into the Pakistani territory from across the Chaman border also took place.
\nLast week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist incidents that gripped the province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa over the past few days. PM Shehbaz hailed the \u201cample response\u201d of the armed forces saying that the nation \u201cwill defeat terrorism by supporting its forces\u201d.
\nVowing to deal with \u201cattempts to spread chaos in Pakistan through terrorism with an iron fist,\u201d the premier categorically stated that the government would not bow in front of any terrorist group.
