\nAmun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has expressed dismay over twice postponement of local bodies elections, calling it an undemocratic and illegitimate act.
\nTalking to a group of reporters here on Wednesday, Faiq berated it is highly deplorable to delay holding of local government elections.
\nHe described bringing new amended law in haste and snatching of people\u2019s rights as an undemocratic act.
\nImpression of impartiality on Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will emerge, Shah warned.
\nThe ATP chairman asserted the postponement of local bodies elections in Karachi, Hyderabad and Islamabad again and again, isn\u2019t called a democratic action.
\nGovernments won\u2019t digest the struggle for public partnership in power, Faiq noted.
\nThe party leader appealed to the superior judiciary to halt such practice and actions forthwith so that a foundation of impartial system would be laid down and create trust on elections and electoral system.
\nShah said reforms must be made but the postponement of local bodies elections a few days before its holding is highly condemnable.
\nFaiq noticed legislation sailed through parliament for politicians\u2019 personal interest rather than public welfare that has rapidly lost the image and reputation of parliament, because of which institutions have been discrediting, undermining and defaming, which won\u2019t accept people.<\/p>\n
He asked the ruling alliance to trust on people by abrogating the path of dread and fascism so that this will benefit their democracy and the people.<\/p>\n
