\nFinance Minister Ishaq Dar has once again made it clear that he can prove there is no apprehension Pakistan will default.
\nWe will not go to Paris club despite grave problems. Damage has been caused to national economy through political point scoring. I am saddled on the post of minister of finance since the last three months. I hear every time about default. We will not take revenge from any one and instead we will correct the economy. The world will see Pakistan economic development , he said this while addressing a ceremony here at Pakistan stock exchange Wednesday.
\nHe said damage is being caused to Pakistan for cheap political gains. Speculations are being made Pakistan will default. These speculations have indulged people in fear. Therefore some one is buying dollar and some one is buying gold.
\nWe have to extricate the people from this fear, he remarked.
\nThe Minister said Stock Exchange and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan are of great significance in improving country\u2019s economy; therefore, we are focused to improve their functioning.
\nHe said the inputs of business community will be acknowledged for this purpose. He said the restraints on imports are aimed at saving economy. He said we have not banned imports but prioritized import items under different categories so the essential items can be imported on priority basis. He said essential items including medicine and edible oil have been put in category one, energy imports in category two, imports for export oriented industry in category three while imports for agricultural industry in category four.
\nThe Minister further said, we should learn from the mistakes of past and work together for the development of the country.
\nPakistan has to make arrangement for 31 billion dollars. The exports have been affected due to energy crisis.
\nState bank has issued new circular yesterday night about import, he held. Through it restrictions imposed on import have been removed, he pointed out.
\nThe clauses 84, 85, 87 have been abolished and relief has been afforded to importers, he indicated.
