\nAs the new year has arrived, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has pledged that his party to form a strong government through elections in 2023.
\nIn a series of tweets, mentioning the best and worst times of 2022, Imran Khan shared, \u201cA government with one of the best econ performances was removed through a conspiracy triggered by supreme self-interest, and Pakistan was handed over to a bunch of criminals.\u201d
\nThey ran the economy to the ground, gave themselves NRO2 and through NAB law amends opened the doors for all white-collar criminals to plunder, he added. \u201cHow was it the \u201cbest of times\u201d? It was the first time I have seen Pakistanis become a nation. Despite all parties combining together against PTI, supported by ECP and establishment.\u201d
\n\u201cThe party chairman said PTI through massive public support won 75% of bye-elections and established itself as a truly national party. Despite the gloom right now, especially of a possible default, I have faith in Almighty Allah and confidence in our people that without a doubt in 2023 through elections PTI will form a strong government.\u201d

\nImran alleges ex-army chief Bajwa of calling him \u2018playboy\u2019
\nFormer Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday alleged ex army chief General retired Qamar Javed Bajwa of calling him \u2018playboy\u2019 in their last meeting.
\nThe former Prime Minister, while talking to journalists at his Zaman Park residence on Sunday said that General (retired) Qamar Bajwa\u2019s setup in the \u2018establishment\u2019 was still active. He said that the \u2018military establishment\u2019 forced three PTI MPAs to refrain from voting in the crucial confidence vote in Punjab Assembly.
\nRecalling the last meeting that took place between him and the ex-COAS, Imran said \u201cBajwa said that you are a playboy\u201d. To which, the ousted prime minister said that \u201cyes I have been a playboy.\u201d
\nDuring his meeting with reporters, Imran claimed that former army chief had \u2018hired\u2019 ex diplomat Hussain Haqqani to lobby against him. \u201cHaqqani kept campaigning against me and kept promoting General [retd] Bajwa,\u201d former prime minister told journalists.
\nTalking about his viral \u2018audio leaks\u2019, Imran said his wife Bushra Bibi is a \u2018family woman\u2019. \u201cWhat message are we giving to our young generation by releasing such audios?\u201d he wondered.
\nImran said that transparent and free elections were the only solution to country\u2019s economic and political woes. \u201cThe establishment can play a vital role in taking country out of economic and all sorts of crisis. Transparent elections will result into stable government and that is the only way to come out of crisis,\u201d he maintained.
\nDuring the meeting, the former prime minister came hard at former army chief Bajwa, to whom his government had granted an extension. \u201cHe had different intentions on his face and in his heart. He used to meet me whole heartedly even being against us,\u201d he said.
\nImran said that current army chief General Asim Munir being the then ISI Chief had never provided him with any proofs of his wife Bushra Bibi\u2019s alleged corruption. \u201cA woman which never went outside, never went for shopping, why would she do any corruption?\u201d he asked.
\nTalking about the government\u2019s advice of returning to the parliament, Imran said that \u201cthere is no benefit\u201d in returning to the National Assembly.
\n\u201cWhat will we do by going to the National Assembly, there is no benefit,\u201d he said.
\nThe ex-PM reiterated that transparent elections will bring stability to the country. \u201cLet there be transparent elections in the country and make a sustainable government,\u201d he maintained.
\nThe PTI chief furthered that the \u201cestablishment can play an important role in getting out of all crises, including the economy.\u201d
\nTalking about the ruling coalition filing a vote of no confidence against Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, Imran claimed that \u201cthe establishment had asked our [PTI\u2019s] three members of the Punjab Assembly to remain neutral for the vote of confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
