\nTransporters and owners of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations on Monday staged a protest rally on GT-Road against the federal government decision to close CNG stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for one month, the protesters threatened to extend their rallies to other cities if the decision was not reversed immediately.
\nHolding banners and placards in their hands, participants of the rally demanded of the government to take its decision back and save their source of livelihood. Chanting slogans, they asked the federal government that the suspension of gas supply to KP was against the law as it (gas) was the provincial resources and the province had the first right over it.
\nThey also justified raising the fare and maintained that gas closure to the CNG, the transporters could not manage their expenses, adding that raising fares was their right.
\nLed by the provincial public transport owners association president Khan Zaman Afridi, president of Shaheen transport owner association Asif Khan and general secretary CNG stations association Haji Murad and other office bearers, the protestors asked the government to reopen the stations as early as possible and save transporters and general public from further economic losses.
\nThey also threatened province-wide protests if their demand for the opening of CNG stations was not met in the next few days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
