ISLAMABAD
\nNational Assembly\u2019s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday expressed great annoyance over surging wheat crisis in country and maintained that the flour was getting costly day by day.
\nIn its meeting on Tuesday under the chair of Noor Alam Khan, the PAC maintained public representatives of country were getting cursed. Chairman PAC while showing intense vexation said no one was listening to the voice of aggrieved layman and the flour was getting out of their buying power.
\nNoor Alam Khan complained that bureaucratic officials were not responding to the calls of public representatives. \u201cMNAs represent people. Bureaucracy must listen to their perspective. Bureaucracy must face people to see what\u2019s happening on ground,\u201d he said.
\nTaking a notice of the security reservations at Parliament lodges, the committee summoned Islamabad\u2019s Inspector General of Police and directed him to take abrupt action against professional beggars. He was also asked to take action to ensure better car parking outside Islamabad\u2019s Marriot hotel.
\nMoreover, Railways\u2019 audit report for the year 2019-20 was also reviewed in the meeting. Chairman of the committee expressed grave concern over alleged harassment of traders by the railways\u2019 officials.
\nChairman PAC observed that complaints of alleged demands of extortion money have been filed by businessmen in Peshawar circle.
\nMember PAC Dr Ramesh Kumar while reacting to alleged illegal occupation of railway land wondered about the steps taken by railway administration to recover its land.
