Only 2.5 percent of people in Pakistan get university education: Miftah
\n PESHAWAR
\nFormer Prime Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Saturday that all successive governments have badly failed to deliver and stabilize country\u2019s economy, saying people are reeling under the burden of record inflation and extreme poverty whereas the politicians of the country are busy in political gimmicks.
\nHe expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) along with other leaders including former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Lashkar Raisani, Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti and other leaders.
\nPML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the political environment and economic condition of the country have reached boiling points owing to the leadership of the political parties.
\n\u201cLoathing the opposing party has taken over the country\u2019s politics,\u201d expressing disappointment he said the current system would not provide any way out. Mustafa Nawaz Khokar on this occasion maintained that politicians, judiciary, establishment and other institutions of the country have to work jointly for resolving the long standing issues of the country.
\nWe need to work on an action plan for leading the country toward prosperity and development, he added and said that stability of the country is linked to cooperation and effective consultation among the all stockholders.
\n The situation demands pragmatic action, political consensus and long term policies to steer out the country from the ongoing crisis, Khokhar added.
\nBlunders committed by the heads of the institutions, political parties and others should be accountable and exposed before the public, he added. Former Prime Minister lamented that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified after opening false cases against him, adding that country progress was reversed to serve vested interests of a few individuals.
\nEarlier, addressing a seminar titled \u201cRe-Imaging Pakistan\u201d at Nishtar Hall Peshawar; Abbasi criticized the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for failing to initiate the process of development in ex-Fata.
\nAddressing the seminar via video link, former finance minister Miftah Ismail alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and his team did nothing for the country and erstwhile Fata.
\nPTI left the country in a very poor condition economically, he added and said owing to the policies of the political parties, very limited people get access to education, especially university level of education.
\n\u201cOnly 2.5 percent of people in Pakistan get university education,\u201d Miftah Ismail added.
