\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned highly offensive desecration of the Holy Quran by a Danish politician. In a tweet on Sunday, he said that this is the third such incident in a row that should be strongly condemned by the civilised world.
\nThe Prime Minister said the need for global unity to fight Islamophobia couldn\u2019t be more urgent than it is now. \u201cWe are deeply hurt,\u201d the prime minister posted. The Prime Minister called upon the civilized world to strongly condemned the highly offensive acts of desecration of the Holy Quran.
\n\u201cThe highly offensive desecration of the Holy Quran by a Danish politician is the third such incident in a row that should be strongly condemned by the civilised world, he remarked.\u201d He further said that the need for global unity to fight Islamophobia couldn\u2019t be more urgent than it was now.
\nEarlier, the Foreign Office has also condemned in the strongest terms the deeply offensive act of desecration of the Holy Quran in Denmark by the same Islamophobe who committed a similar act in Sweden a few days ago.
\n\u201cThis repetition of the vile act leaves little doubt in the minds of the Muslims around the world that freedom of expression is being blatantly abused to spread religious hatred and incitement to violence,\u201d the FP spokesperson said in a press release.
\nPakistan\u2019s concerns were being conveyed to the authorities in Denmark. \u201cWe urge them to be mindful of the sentiments of the people of Pakistan and the Muslims around the world and take steps to prevent such hateful and Islamophobic acts,\u201d it added.
\nPakistan also called into question the legal framework behind which the Islamophobes hide and spread hatred with impunity. At a time when there is an increasing need for inter-faith harmony and mutual respect for peaceful coexistence, the international community cannot turn a blind eye to these hate mongers.
\nPakistan reiterated its considered position that freedom of expression came with responsibilities. \u201cPakistan also believes that it is the responsibility of the national governments as well as the international community to prevent these racist and Islampohobic acts\u201d, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
