Ex-ADG Health Services KP is to appear before the anti-graft body on Feb 2

\nThe country\u2019s anti-graft body has summoned a retired senior official of Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 2 (today) for possession of \u2018information\/ evidence\u2019, related to alleged corruption committed in the Covid-19 funds.
\nAccording to a call up notice, a copy of which is available with this scribe, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office has summoned former Additional Director General Health Services as part of the inquiry initiated against the Health Department KP officials for their embezzlement in funds reserved for procurement various operatus and services during the pandemic.
\n\u201cAnd whereas, the inquiry against Health Department KP regarding corruption and embezzlement of funds in procurement of Goods and Services for Covid-19, has revealed that you are in possession of information\/evidence, which relates to the commission of the said offences,\u201d the notice said.
\nA senior officer in the health department told this scribe on the condition of anonymity that Dr Shaheena, former ADG Health Services, which was summoned by the NAB, was part of the inspection committee formed to oversee the affairs regarding the procurement of goods and services in the coronavirus pandemic.
\nHe said that the inquiry is focused on goods and services procurement funds embezzlement.
\n The anti-graft body has summoned the ex-official of health services in the capacity to assist the inquiry team.
\n\u201c In view, thereof, you are hereby called upon to appear on 02 Febuary at 10:00 hourse before Combined Investigation Team (CIT-II), IW-I at NAB (KP), Block-III, PDA Complex, Phase-V, Hayatabad, Peshawar to record your statement being member of the Inspection committee for Goods and Services procured by Health Department KP during Covid-19,\u201d it read.
\nSources in the finance department have claimed that NAB-KP had the aforementioned inquiry against the officials of the health department in the last quarter of financial year 2022-23.
\nHe maintained that the NAB has obtained details and records of funds from the health department, adding that a special audit report furnished by the department of finance and Auditor General of Pakistan had pinpointed financial irregularities worth millions of rupees in funds utilised by the health department in the pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
