\nAmun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah severely criticised the incumbent coalition government over failure to arrest the rising inflation, bringing price stability and another hike in power tariff. According to reports, Shah observed that inflation has sharply risen up during the last five decades while the 47 years record of price-hike has also broken.
\nThe party leader while talking to a group of reporters here on Thursday criticized the incumbent government for failure to arrest inflation and economic slide while inability to achieve economic growth and bringing price stability.
\nOn the other hand, he said the power tariff has been increased by R3per unit and it will be raised to Rs6 per unit in the first month of the financial year whereas the tough condition of IMF has made it hard to arrest the rising inflation in the country.
\nSimilarly, he said rising circular debts and additional burden of foreign loans are major obstacles to revive floods and war battered national economy.
\nAn unprecedented increase has been witnessed in prices of essential food items at utility stores, Shah noted.
\nWhereas, he said the government has planned to impose additional taxes on Rs 200 Billion through a presentation of a mini-budget.
\nFaiq described the political turmoil and lawlessness, coupled with tough IMF conditions, were behind the rising inflation and economic owes.
\nThe ATP chairman said once again echoes of shortages of petroleum products have been raised as a huge rush of people, motorists and bikers were seen on filling stations in different parts of the country.
\nDespite a whopping increase by Rs35\/litre, he noted the petrol and diesel were unavailable to people in the country.
\nShah hailed the reopening of CNG stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terming the sector as a major source and role in employment generation and provision of livelihoods of many households and families.
\nThe party chief expressed grave concern over growing political victimization.
\nFaiq urged the government and opposition to extend some mercy on inflation-hit masses and put aside their political differences and work jointly for coping with rising inflation and economic challenges.
\nHe asked to ensure availability of food items at subsidized rates to provide relief to poor masses and avoid adding to their miseries by following and implementing tough conditions of the IMF.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
