\nJos Buttler has admitted to feeling frustrated at not being able to pick the best teams for England\u2019s ODI assignments building up to their World Cup title defence later this year in India.
\n\u201cThe way the games are scheduled, I can sort of understand it both ways. As an England captain, on one side you wish that everyone would see playing for England as the main thing and grab any opportunity available,\u201d Buttler told Cricbuzz.
\nThe England captain acknowledged the reality of the situation: that many of these tournaments offered greater earning potential than an England gig does and therefore didn\u2019t believe those players should be ostracised from the England setup in the future. \u201cIt\u2019s quite a unique situation. It\u2019s the time we are in,\u201d Buttler said.
\n\u201cBut there are bigger things in play as well. The discrepancy between what people can earn playing for England and not playing for England is quite large, so that\u2019s a factor that must be considered. For each individual that will be a different decision made at different times of their careers,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cIn this day and age, you\u2019ve got to try to work with it as best you can and if people make themselves unavailable, they know they\u2019re giving someone else a chance. But I certainly don\u2019t want to be in a position where you rule people out and say they\u2019ll never play for England again, or anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
