\nFormer Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has said he received a promise from Russian President Vladimir Putin not to kill his Ukrainian counterpart.
\nAccording to news reports on Sunday, Bennett had asked Putin about whether he intended to kill Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the early days of the war.
\n\u201cI asked \u2018what\u2019s up with this? Are you planning to kill Zelenskyy?\u2019 He said \u2018I won\u2019t kill Zelenskyy.\u2019 I then said to him \u2018I have to understand that you\u2019re giving me your word that you won\u2019t kill Zelenskyy.\u2019 He said \u2018I\u2019m not going to kill Zelenskyy.\u2019\u201d
\nBennett said he then called Zelenskyy to inform him of Putin\u2019s pledge.
\n\u201c\u2018Listen, I came out of a meeting, he\u2019s not going to kill you.\u2019 He asks, \u2018are you sure?\u2019 I said \u2019100 percent he won\u2019t kill you.\u2019\u201d
\nThe five-hour interview on Saturday was posted by Bennett on his personal YouTube channel and Twitter account.
