\nNek Ibrahim, an injured cop of the telecommunication department of Khyber Pakthunkhwa police, who was discharged from hospital on Monday after recovering from the police lines bombing\u2019 wounds, has reiterated to fight against terrorists till his last breath after joining of the service.
\nSupported by his brother in wheel-chair while departing for home, Ibrahim, who spent nearly eight-day at Lady Reading Hospital\u2019s Orthopedic Ward after receiving critical shoulder and hands\u2019 injures, was seemed happy after discharge from the hospital and vowed to served his country with more determination and strength after rejoining his duties in police force.
\n\u201c\u201dMartyrdom is my desire. However, Allah Almighty saved me in the deadly attack and bestowed me with rank of Ghazi and my others martyred colleagues with the highest rank of Shahadat,\u201d he said, adding \u201cafter few days bed rest at home as advised by the doctors, I would rejoin my duties in few days Inshallah.\u201d
\n\u201cI became unconscious as a result of the huge blast. I can only remember hearing Allah-o-Akbar by the Imam (prayer leader) and later a huge explosion,\u201d Ibrahim Khan, who served in KP Police for 22 years in different districts, told APP on Monday.
\n\u201cThe sacrifices of policemen had given me enormous courage and strength to fight the enemy and frustrate their nefarious designs with full might.\u201d
\nExpressing gratitude to the people, doctors, civil society members, national and political leadership for their prayers and wishes for the wounded cops and martyrs, he said the nation\u2019s unwavering support has given him enormous will-power during treatment and later in recovery\u2019s phase.
\nAt least 85 worshipers, mostly policemen were martyred and nearly 220 injured in the January 30 last suicide bombing on a police lines\u2019 mosque at Peshawar that has not only sparked widespread condemnations but also brought together all the religious-political leaders and civil-military leadership to formulate a joint strategy against terrorism and discussed the national action plans.
\nAsim Khan, Spokesman of lady reading hospital Peshawar said that majority of injured police victims were discharged and presently only 18 patients including 4 at ICU were being treated due to their critical injuries.
\nIn an extraordinary apex committee meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in chair and attended by all the religio-political, civil and military leadership recently at Peshawar, has expressed strong resolve and determination to protect lives and property of the people at every cost and make an example out of the terrorists who shed blood of Pakistanis.
\n\u201cThe apex committee\u2019s decisions have reflected people\u2019s aspirations. The decisions of the apex committees including zero tolerance for terrorism, plug in all sources of support to terrorists, upgradation of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), CTD and police, construction of CTD headquarters and forensic laboratory, safe city project in KP were highly praised worthy that would help combat terrorism and bring culprits to justice,\u201d said Ikhtarir Wali Khan, PMLN KP spokesman and former MPA while talking to APP here Monday.
\nIkhtair Wali said that Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf did not show political grace and magnanimity after its leadership failure to attend the highly important Apex Committee meeting at Peshawar and expressed the hope that Imran Niazi would review his decision by participating the All Parties Conference at Islamabad on February 9 where a national strategy against terrorism were likely to be formulated.
\nPMLN leader said about Rs417 billion were provided to Khyber Pakthunkhwa since 2010 by the federation under the national finance commission (NFC) award for combating terrorism and questioned that where this huge amount was utilized in last 13 years including 10 years of the Pakistant Tahrik e Insaf, exposing PTI tall claims of good governance in the province.
\nPrior to the Nawaz Sharif\u2019s government in 2013, he said there was bomb and suicide blasts almost every day in Khyber Pakthunkhwa where people even could not go out of homes in Peshawar\u2019s peripheries areas due to militants\u2019 threats.
\nAfter the APS attack at Peshawar in 2014, he said the Nawaz Sharif government has united nation and launched decisive action against terrorists and militants in the country including KP and Karachi besides restoring peace in the country including in our province and Karachi.
\nNational Action Plan was formulated and operations Zarb e Azab and Darul Fasad were launched in the country including KP that broke the back of terrorists. He said the Nawaz Sharif Govt has resettled all the TDPs at their hometowns and provided relief to masses.
\nA.H.Hilali, former Chairman Political Science Department, University of Peshawar said political unity was imperative to combat terrorism and extremism. He urged all political and religious parties to shun their differences and sit together for an inclusive political dialogue for formulation of a consensus and broad based strategy imperative for complete eradication of terrorism.
\nHe said all eyes on the February 9 APC at Islamabad where political leaders would meet for likely formulation of a joint anti terrorism strategy and reviewing of the national action plans.
\nZilakat Malik, former chairman Political Science Department, University of Peshawar said that Pakistan was facing enormous economic challenges that could be addressed through political unity and strict financial disciplines by the organizations.
