\nInspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muazzam Jah Ansari on Monday paid a to Malik Saad Police Lines and inspected the security arrangements. Police chief also carried out inspection of the site where the incident of suicide bomb blast took place a few days ago. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mohammad Ijaz Khan, SSP Operations Peshawar and other senior police officials also accompanied IG-KP on the occasion.
\nDuring the visit, the Moazzam Jah Ansari reviewed various security measures and a walk-through gate. The IGP\u2019s vehicle and body also had to be cleared by the scanner stage, in which the IGP expressed satisfaction.
\nCCPO Peshawar briefed IGP about the steps taken to enter the police lines, said that a system of quick communication and coordinated and organized modern centralized security has been adopted between the various units located in the police lines. At the police lines, the policemen and the general public have to go through various checking steps including radio frequency identification at the time of entry.
\n After this, full-dress searches are conducted and intelligence personnel are deployed as required at various points for security. During the visit to the CTD unit, the DG CTD briefed the IGP about the progress made in the blast investigation.
\nThe IGP visited the FRP, Telecommunication and Special Service Unit CPEC buildings located in the Lines where they assessed the security arrangements.
\nLater, the IGP went to the spot and carefully reviewed the procedure and SOPs for entry of worshipers into the mosque where suicide attacked incident took place.
\nThe IGP was also briefed about the security measures towards the police residential quarters.
\nMr Ansari also met with policemen on security one by one and issued special instructions to them for effective security steps.
\nPolice chief also lauded the professional performance of police force.
\nMeanwhile, in the wake of deadly suicide attack on Police Lines masjid, the Peshawar police on Monday decided to re-audit security measures of government installations and sensitive places in the provincial capital.
\nIn this regard CCPO Peshawar Muhammad Ijaz Khan chaired a high-level meeting in Peshawar Police Lines on current security situation that was attended by SSP Coordination Zahoor Babar Afridi, SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi, SSP Investigation Shahzada Kaukab Farooq, Commandant Campus Tajmmul Khan, SP Headquarters Rahim Hussain, SP Security Atiq Shah, and senior officers.
\nCCPO Muhammad Ijaz Khan directed the officers to conduct audits of the government installations and sensitive places in the city. He emphasized over the need to take concrete steps to make the security arrangements more efficiently to avert any mishap in future. The CCPO made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated during the duty.
\nIn order to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident, the meeting also decided to conduct information-based targeted search and strike operations, snap checks and reactivate special checkpoints.
