A two-judge bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Monday heard the petition. Lawyer Hussain argued that the CII does not have any constitutional standing nor does it enjoy any authority. He said that the council had presented its final report to the parliament in 1996. He said that the IIC was required to take review of the country\u2019s laws in light of the Islamic laws under the Article 230(4) of the Constitution.<br \/>\n\u201cAfter the submission of the report to the parliament, the CII should have been dissolved,\u201d the lawyer said.
