\nAmun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has lambasted the incumbent coalition government, saying that the rulers have snatched people\u2019s right to live from people.
\nFollowing the hike in power tariff, Shah said the government has made a massive increase in gas prices orders of the IMF.
\nHe said \u201cEvery child in the country is bearing witness to the worst government in the last 75 years.\u201d
\nFaiq while talking to different delegations here at the party\u2019s central office on Tuesday severely criticized the economic policies of the present rulers, saying the unprecedented price-hike and unemployment had never been seen in the history of the country.
\nHe maintained the government has started implementing prior demands of IMF for availing another bailout programme, saying that inflation storm will come as result of imposing new taxes Rs300billion through a \u2018mini-budget\u2019.
\nPrices of essential food commodities are on the rise, he observed.
\nHe said the poor masses have left on mercy of hoarders and profiteers.
\nThe party chief criticized the governments and local administration for keeping complete mum and are reluctant to take stern action against the increasing hoardings and profiteering ahead of the holy month of Ramazan.
\nSimilarly, he said the fuel crisis once again looming in different parts of the country.
\nHe said there was a proper price-check mechanism.
\nHe noted the shopkeepers have started squeezing the inflation-hit people by charging them with self-imposed prices.
\nThe party chief once again called for a broader consensus among political forces on a minimal common agenda to deal with the prevailing economic and political crises in the country.
\nShah said that the country is facing, perhaps, a major economic and political crisis of history.
\nThis is the time that we all should evolve a consensus on a minimal common agenda, he stressed.
\nFaiq blamed the present political chaos for the current economic meltdown in the country.
\nHe said the directionless policies of the incumbent coalition government has brought the country on brink of destruction.
\nHe said no one is ready to pay attention to issues of poverty-stricken masses as rulers and politicians have engaged to protect their personal interest and ensure survival in politics.
\nShah once again made a demand that stakeholders should play their role for bringing government and opposition to the negotiation table and set a joint agenda to end the current political and economic instability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
