{"id":31383,"date":"2018-09-19T19:02:14","date_gmt":"2018-09-19T09:02:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=31383"},"modified":"2018-09-19T19:02:14","modified_gmt":"2018-09-19T09:02:14","slug":"sc-orders-removal-of-ishaq-dar-as-uhs-bogs-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/sc-orders-removal-of-ishaq-dar-as-uhs-bogs-chairman\/","title":{"rendered":"SC orders removal of Ishaq Dar as UHS BoG&#8217;s chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nISLAMABAD : The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the removal of former finance minister Ishaq Dar as chairman of the board of governors of University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard a suo motu case of the administrative crisis in UHS.<br \/>\nA three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar ordered that Dar be removed from the post of chairman of board of governors of UHS.<\/p>\n<p>Punjab government should appoint a new chairman of the board of governors of the university within three days, the court further directed.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, the chief justice remarked, \u201cAs per the rules, a meeting of UHS board of governors should be held every two years but the last meeting took place in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe chairman of board of governors, Dar, has run away from the country and the court has issued red warrants against him after declaring him as absconding,\u201d he added.
