\nPakistan, US naval chiefs take up maritime security cooperation
\nISLAMABAD, FEB 15 (DNA) \u2014 Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi held a meeting with Commander US Naval Forces Central Command Vice Admiral Brad Cooper.
\nBoth the naval chiefs exchanged views on affairs of mutual interests, maritime security situation, and bilateral naval cooperation. According to the spokesperson for Pak Navy, both leaders have resolved to strengthen the defence and naval cooperation between the two countries.
\nThe Commander of US Naval Forces Central Command congratulated CNS Admiral Niazi on the successful conduct of AMAN-23 organized by the Pakistan Navy. The five-day multinational maritime exercise AMAN-23 was concluded in Karachi on Tuesday.
\nNaval forces of more than 50 countries participated in the joint naval exercise with their warships, aircraft, Special Operation Forces and a large number of observers. The exercise was aimed at developing an effective joint strategy against pirates, terrorists and smugglers of drugs and arms. s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Minister for Industries and Technical Education Adnan Jalil called on Nickolas Catsakis, Political Economic Chief of the US Embassy, here in a local hotel Peshawar and discussed with him various issues of mutual interest.
\nThe US diplomat offered a comprehensive package of training teachers, students to the province.
\nHe as such offered a good chunk of grant for the purpose.
\nAccepting the offer as courtesy, the caretaker minister said that the provincial government has chalked out a well conceived and comprehensive plan to upgrade the technical educational institutions of KP, train teachers and teach modern skills to the young generation on modern lines, wherein the cooperation of the US government and donors will be considered as a gift for the people of the province.
\nHe said it will also inculcate the feelings and sentiments of goodwill amongst both the nations.
\nThe minister said that under the program of equipping the youth with modern technical education in the province, the students who have graduated will be enabled to open their shop or workshop with hiring the services of more artisans after meeting the required business requirements including getting a National Tax Number so that our youth can learn meaningful skills in addition to enable earning a decent living and help in eradicating unemployment.
\nAdnan Jalil said that GIZ, USAID and international donor and aid agencies of so many countries have provided a lot of support to our technical training centers in woodworking and other technologies in the past.
\nHe said various US agencies can also play a key role in supporting the provincial government and promoting technical education over here.
\nThe Political Economic Chief of the US Embassy assured the caretaker minister to seriously review the new technical education plan of the provincial government and provide full financial and technical support and grants in this regard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
